Fun with Amulets

Hi everyone!

So you have a magic amulet you love. Maybe you touch it from time to time as it hangs around your neck, or maybe it’s sitting on your nightstand or even lying in your jewelry box awaiting a suitable occasion. There is no wrong way to use your amulet, but here are some of my favorites!

-Just wear it. Trying to “make an amulet work” can be counterproductive. If you worry about putting enough attention on it, or imagine it will only work with the help of elaborate rituals, you can slow down the amulet’s effect. Each of my magic amulets is primed and ready to go – once you don it, it will work whether you remember you’ve got it on or not.

-Put it under your pillow at night. This is great if you don’t want to wear unusual jewelry or find it inconvenient. Healing, love, confidence, money etc. can flow to you just as easily while you’re sleeping!

-Talk to it. If you like your amulet and think you’re getting along, say “Good morning” or “Thank you” – or mentally ask for its help in particular situations: “Please make this date extra fun!”. Crystals have characters and possess their own brand of intelligence. If you treat your amulet like a friend, you will find yourself accepting and appreciating its assistance.

-Make a magic potion. Tap the amulet three times against a glass of water or wine and say the name of the amulet, then drink. Those famously responsive water molecules will pick up the vibration of the charm.

-Hold or touch it. If you need a quick fix but don’t want to don jewelry for the day, pick up your amulet and breathe deeply, stretching or swaying if you like, or simply sitting still. Experiment with holding the amulet in different hands, over your heart and other chakra points, or over a body part that needs healing.

-Bless it again. If you have an altar or prayer to your special deities or spirits, you may wish to ask these spirits to add their blessing to the amulet’s power before you wear it.

-Leave it on an altar. An amulet can be offered as a permanent gift to your chosen deity, with the understanding that you are placing that amulet’s job (protecting you, healing you, finding you a mate, etc.) entirely in the hands of your gods, guardian angels, higher self, etc. This is a beautiful way to place trust in your greater self – and when you notice the amulet on your altar, you will remember that you are being looked after by the most perfect and potent forces you can imagine.
