Highly Specialized Magic Amulets

Today we will discuss those amulets consisting of a handful of gemstones and symbols bound with wire. They appear more irregular than the strung – gemstone amulets and are more specialized in their effects. For example, the Love to My Beloved Amulet is a talisman of focus allowing the wearer to send love to the person or being whose photograph or symbol is placed in the locket. These “narrow-band” amulets are closer in character to the traditional magic charm (i.e. love charm, protection charm, etc). Being made with fewer components, they retain the distinct flavors of each gemstone or symbol; usually one energy will dominate, as here the rose quartz dominates.

It’s still possible to vary the intention of the amulet; for example, one wearer of Love to My Beloved might place a photo of her patron goddess there; another, a picture of her lover. But in most cases it would be impractical and roundabout to apply this amulet to, say, success in business; it is essentially a vehicle of rose-quartz frequency love alone.

This focused quality makes narrow-band amulets highly effective in transforming specific energies. One’s desires and sense of obstruction of those desires (if any) form a balance; this balance is tweaked and made multidimensional by the renewed focus of the wearer’s energies upon the amulet. This renewed focus typically contains elements of positive expectation, suspension of disbelief, and contemplation (conscious or unconscious) of the flavors of the fulfillment of the desire. It shifts the balance of forces within the wearer’s consciousness. One such example is the Purge the Poison Amulet, a charm designed by appearance and ritual to evoke cosmic memory in the physical body of “All things and their opposites dwell in balance within my Self” – the knowledge that transmutes physical and psychic poisons.
